It’s hard to believe that Lent is almost upon us. Your inbox has probably been bombarded with invitations to join up with some sort of virtual retreat being offered by big publishers or famous personalities. These are great – but have you considered the possibility of walking through Lent with the Retreat Center at Saint Paul of the Cross Monastery on the South Side Slopes of Pittsburgh? If Lent is about letting go of our attachments and scaling back, making sacrifices, almsgiving, and love of neighbor, why not support our neighbors by joining their first simple, online, virtual retreat, put together by a handful of the monastery priests, employees, and some of their regular presenters?
A little less polished? Probably so. Simpler than the big publishers? You bet. But every bit as heartfelt and sincere, perhaps even more-so. Register (suggested donation is $40 which supports not only the Retreat Center but a portion of proceeds will benefit the Passionist community mission in Haiti (Almsgiving even before the season starts!) by visiting this LINK. You’ll receive a weekly guide for the music, meditations, reflections, and presentations for the week and will be able to work the retreat into your daily life as best fits you. Pre-registration is encouraged for timely delivery of weekly materials.
Hope to “see” you there!
