An oasis of peace overlooking the city of Pittsburgh from the Southside Slopes, St. Paul of the Cross Retreat Center offers weekend retreats throughout the fall, winter, and spring; as well as evening talks during the week. There are other events of interest on various topics throughout the year for faith enrichment, even a silent retreat opportunity during the summer that can be tailored to your individual needs.

Fr. Mike Schmitz YouTube channel. A collection of short and sweet talks (most between 5 and 10 minutes) on more topics that you can imagine such as; “Should Catholics call priests Father?”, “Why God gave us bodies”, “Motivation to go to Catholic Mass”, “The problem of criticism”, “The Battle of Prayer”, and so many more … even “Wonder Woman”! I won’t spoil that one for you. Give it a viewing and see what that is all about. Definitely worth your time. Engaging, entertaining, succinct and to the point.

If you aren’t familiar with Bishop Barron’s site Word on Fire, there’s no better time than right now to get yourself acquainted. Slick, attractive, easy to navigate, this website is dedicated to sharing a whole host of Catholic resources such as articles, homilies, studies, blogs, videos, DVDs, books, CDs, lectures and more than my fingers care to type right now. If you don’t know who Bishop Barron is, just google him and check out one of his videos. He has a gift for making our Catholic Faith easily accessible and understandable, without sacrificing Truth and content.

The Matt Walsh Blog might be something you find interesting. Read one Catholic family man’s take on various topics (many of them controversial) that are part of the fabric of today’s society through his very popular blog. I am quite a fan of the way he handles hecklers with grace and well thought out apologetic replies. You can also find him on both Twitter and Facebook if that’s more your to your liking.
